An Atlanta native, Dr. Brown holds a B.S. in chemistry from Harding University and studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock before entering medical school. After completing her medical degree, internship and residency in OB/GYN there, she returned to Atlanta in 1989 to join Gynecology & Obstetrics of DeKalb.
During her career, Dr. Brown has held many leadership positions in DeKalb Medical Center's (now Emory Decatur Hospital) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and previously served as Department Chair.
Dr. Brown's interest in medicine began during childhood when she spent time in the hospital as a patient. During her educational journey, she never lost focus on the goal of becoming a physician, and while she sees women of all ages, she has particular interests in adolescent gynecology, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, menopausal management, and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Brown's medical expertise has been recognized by both patients and peers alike. She has been named multiple times to Atlanta Magazine's Top Doctors list, as well as Castle Connelly's Regional Top Doctors list. In addition, she received Vital's Patient Choice Award as one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors and has been listed as one of America's Most Honored Professionals by The American Registry four times.
